So when the U.S.-Israel side asked for a ceasefire this time, Iran which had granted one back in June 2025, said \u2018no.\u2019 Prior to the war beginning on February 28, Iran made clear if they are attacked again, it would be an \u201cindefinite war.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emphasizing that this is an \u201cunjustified war of choice,\u201d Professor Postol said he has been surprised at how quickly the second phase of the war occurred, pointing to Iran\u2019s retaliation to the U.S.-Israel assault with its hitting of military bases in the Gulf, and direct hits on Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Demonstrating his ballistic missile expertise, he proceeded with video footage to show the \u201ccounter-missile defenses\u201d which the Iranians are now deploying.
